Children’s Potato Challenge

The end of March is the time when we invite the children of Bramley and surrounding villages to take part in the Great Potato Challenge.

It’s a fun challenge which is open to all local children up to the age of 15.

To take part you will need a 3 gallon (13.5 litre) bucket with drainage holes and a bag of compost.

Instructions.

Collection

Potatoes will be available from Monday 28th March to Saturday 2nd April. For details on how to obtain your seed potato, please telephone Gillie on 01256 881529 who will make arrangements with you on where to collect your potato from. If collection is a problem for you, then we may also be able to arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can email us on bramleyvillageshow@gmail.com.

Do not worry if the leaves start to die. There will be potatoes underneath!

The winners will be announced at the end of the show and your bucket and potatoes will be returned to you at that time.

There are trophies for:

The heaviest crop, the most potatoes and the largest potato

N.B. If you are going to be away when the show is held, please email us. We will make arrangements with you, to ensure your bucket is cared for until the show and your bucket and potatoes will be returned to you on your return.
